The Big Dogs of DC, a large dog pet portrait fundraiser benefiting multiple rescues and animal support organizations.

Capture your big dog’s personality with a beautiful and iconic pet portrait from one of DC’s premier pet photographers, all while helping support animal rescues and organizations. The Big Dogs of DC is an ongoing fundraiser focusing on some of the largest dogs in the area.  Dogs are photographed in various iconic locations in Washington, DC.  Select images for each dog will be featured in a photographic book called The Big Dogs of DC.  John Gaylord, the owner of Outside The Lines Pet Photography, is donating a portion of the proceeds to various rescues and organizations.  Clients are able to choose which organization they would like to have their donation go to.

“We want to raise at least $5,000 for local animal rescues, groups, and clubs, while capturing amazing photos of some of the largest dogs in DC” says Gaylord. “Last year we raised over $1,300 doing pet photography events, but we want to do even more in 2017”

Pet owners will choose a collection and receive a complete photography session.  Before the session they will also have a consultation at their home to plan what they would like to get out of the session.  There is a basic collection starting at $300 and an inclusive collection starting at $600.  The inclusive collection includes a 16x20 gallery wrapped canvas, a copy of The Big Dogs of DC book, no permit fees, donation to charity or rescue, hand delivery of their wall art, and Outside The Lines will hang the canvas in their home.  Clients can purchase additional prints, and digital images outside of the collection as well.  To participate in this fundraiser dogs should be at least 85 pounds and up.  Some breeds they are looking for include Great Danes, Mastiffs, Scottish Deerhounds, Newfoundlands, Saint Bernards, and Great Pyrenees.  However, most dogs above 85 pounds will be accepted even if they are not listed.  Visit for additional details.

“I believe that every pet owner deserves beautiful images of their pet that can be printed and displayed on their walls” says Gaylord. The Big Dogs of DC is one way pet owners can have that, while supporting local rescues at the same time.  Outside The Lines Pet Photography focuses on creating beautiful prints, canvases, and albums to be displayed in client's homes.
