Our first clients for "The Big Dogs of DC” came from outside the DC area to have their two beautiful Mastiffs photographed in front of the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument was great for our first location because it is such an iconic recognizable DC landmark. The dogs photographed were Lincoln, who is over 100 pounds but still not fully grown, and Rooster his older sister who is around 130! Rooster loved to pose for the camera and Lincoln loved to run across the mall. The whole session went smoothly and involved moving to different locations around the monument.
We captured some wonderful images in front of the Washington monument, but then we saw the beautiful fall foliage behind him. John turned the dogs around and captured some beautiful portraits of the mastiffs in front of the trees. Eventually Lincoln got tired of having his portrait taken so we gave him a break and focused on Rooster. She was happy to continue… for about 15 more minutes. Then she just wanted to be with her parents and Lincoln, so we wrapped the session up. Both of them did great for the session which went over an hour and we captured some great photos. Obviously they enjoyed themselves as you can see from the images!
About two weeks after the session our clients were able to see the wonderful images of their dogs. They had such a hard time narrowing down the images and ended up picking digital files in addition to the included 16x20 canvas print. The image they choose for the 16x20 canvas gallery wrap is a wonderfully posed image of the dogs together in front of the monument. We are so glad we could capture the memories of their dogs and have them turned into photographic wall art.
