Small Dogs of Alexandria

The Small Dogs of Alexandria is a fundraising idea we had at Outside The Lines Pet Photography.  It involves photographing small dogs in Alexandria, Virginia and creating a book of the images.  Do you know of a small dog who would like to participate?

The Small Dogs Of Alexandria Book

Ben and Sammy love living in Alexandria Virginia with their parents.

The Small Dogs of Alexandria is a fundraising idea we had at Outside The Lines Pet Photography.  It involves photographing small dogs in Alexandria, Virginia and creating a book of the images.

Any dogs photographed for the book will be helping to raise funds for local rescues.  Also, they will have amazing portraits created that can be displayed in their home.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the book just scroll down and fill in the info below and we will reach out.

Here is Lily one of the models for The Small Dogs of Alexandria.  Her session took place near the waterfront and on Prince St.  If you live in the area you have likely seen these cobblestones.

General Information

For this fundraiser we are offering discounted sessions and will donate a portion of the proceeds to a local rescue of your choice. You will also get to pick out your favorite image to be printed on a mounted 8x10. Your dog's images will be featured in the book with a short write-up about them.  We are looking for dogs who are under 25 pounds or under 16" tall at the shoulder.

The sessions will take place in Alexandria at different locations.   In many cases you can choose where we do your session.  It could be along the waterfront, or perhaps you would prefer the streets in Old Town.  If those locations are too busy Jones Point Park is a great quiet outdoor location.  However, we can do practically anywhere in Alexandria... just ask us.

We are only offering 3 of these sessions per month, so reach out to us soon so we can schedule a consultation to meet your dog(s).  Then we can plan your session.

How Much Does it Cost and How Much is Donated?

The sessions cost $150 and include the 8x10 of your favorite image.  Additional digital images, wall art, and prints can be purchased and a portion of those sales will also be donated.  However, you do not have to purchase anything extra if you do not want to.

$50 from every session will be donated to a rescue of the clients coosing.  If you choose to purchase additional prints, wall art, digitals or albums we will donate an additional 20% of your order to the rescue.  Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 for local animal rescues.

My Dog Needs To Be On A Leash and Isn't Well Behaved

In this image Wyatt was on a leash that Heather was holding.  As you can see we just photoshopped the leash and Heather out of the final image.

Most of the dogs we photograph in public locations are on leash.  We just photoshop the leash out after the session.  So having your dog on their leash is not a problem.

On top of that many of the dogs we photograph are not that well trained.  Some of them can't even sit on command and others just don't want to listen.

Don't worry, we have worked with a variety of dogs with very different personalities.  Sometimes we can get them to sit with attention, toys, or treats.  Other times they just won't listen.  In that case we usually get beautiful portraits of them just standing on location.
